Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 8:55pm on Sunday, June 28th, 2009 | TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead in his Tampa home, the Tampa Tribune reported on June 28, 2009:
"Internationally known TV product pitchman Billy Mays, who rose to the top of his profession with a boisterous persona that touched consumers and helped create more than $1 billion in merchandise sales, was found dead in his South Tampa home Sunday morning.
His wife Deborah woke up and found Mays, 50, in bed and not breathing, Tampa police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said.
He was dead when Tampa Fire Rescue arrived at Mays' house at 2853 Bowen Daniel Drive, where he was with his wife and 3-year-old daughter. The time of death was reported as 7:45 a.m."

Larry Clifton Jasper, Georgia, USA | Posted at 12:32pm on Monday, May 5th, 2008 | Being a long-time Tampa resident, my take after more than thirty-five years reading Tampa's leading newspapers is this:
After balancing the left-falling editorials of The St Pete Times for many years, The Tampa Tribune has fallen into the same trap, hiring too many lefties on editorial staff.
They still have a few good qualities, such as Steve Otto's columns. Still, he is moderate while his counterpart, Dan Ruth, is a flaming green liberal with a narrow view.
