Cape Town-area Schools of Choice Reach Capacity

The Tyger Burger (South Africa) reported on January 20, 2010:

"Schools in the Metropole North Education District are not experiencing problems to accommodate all learners so much but the more popular schools are full house.

According to Mr. Barry Volschenk, director of Metropole North Education District, only the popular schools, especially English medium high schools such as Fairmont, Fairbairn College, Edgemead, Settlers and Parow High, are battling to accommodate all the applicants, while most primary schools do not feel the pressure so much.

“The popular schools are limited in capacity. Parents are not satisfied with the standard of the high school closest to their home and want to enroll their children in better, more popular schools,” he said."
