Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 9:38am on Monday, January 4th, 2010 | Andre Symes, writing in The Helderberg (South Africa) District Mail on October 29, 2009, says that newspapers shouldn't protect the identities of parents of underage drinkers:
"As terrible as it is to hear of young girls getting hurt in the article "Teens in horror night on the town", it really saddens me how certain establishments get the bad press, yet the parents and guilty children remain "nameless", out of apparent fear of being victimised.
Yet they have no problem naming the pub. The only reason the parents did not want to be named was because they did not want the rest of the town knowing what bad parents they are.
Keep your underage children out of the pubs and out of trouble, before they ruin their lives and possibly the lives of other people. If you cannot do this, then it is your parenting skills that are to blame, and not the pubs."
