The Week Magazine

The Week is a USA magazine covering National News.

The Week is a weekly magazine that gathers and summarizes news, opinions and ideas from the U.S. and international media, targeting people who want a quick survey of current events. The magazine says it offers "all you need to know about everything that matters," scouring hundreds of news sources worldwide and summarizing what it regards as the best of the week. As a news aggregator The Week follows in the footsteps of Reader's Digest and 21st century aggregators like Drudge Report and Google News.

The Week was founded in 1995 in Britain by Jolyon Connell, who had worked for the Sunday Telegraph. The U.S. version was launched in 2001. The magazine was owned by the British company Dennis Publishing Limited until August 2021, when Future plc bought the business.

This magazine is owned by Future plc.

Staff cuts have meant smaller papers with less news, and many advertisers have moved their spending to the Facebook/Google online advertising duopoly. Media writers haven't tired of telling again and again the story of the agony of the local newspaper business, and The Week is no exception. Read yet again about The death of local news.
