HuffPost

HuffPost is a USA website covering National News.

HuffPost was known as The Huffington Post until April 2017 and is sometimes referred to as HuffPo. It is a liberal news and opinion website offering blogs and video coverage. The site was founded by Arianna Huffington, Kenneth Lerer, Jonah Peretti and Andrew Breitbart and was launched on May 9, 2005. Initially it focused on news commentary but quickly expanded into breaking news coverage.

In February 2011, AOL Inc. agreed to buy The Huffington Post for $315M in cash and stock. In June 2015, Verizon Communications bought AOL and HuffPost became part of a Verizon division called Verizon Media Group (formerly Oath). On November 19, 2020, Verizon announced the sale of HuffPost to BuzzFeed Inc., which operates BuzzFeed News. As part of the deal, Verizon Media became a minority shareholder in BuzzFeed.

This website is owned by BuzzFeed Inc.
