PBS, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is a private, non-profit enterprise operated by the nation's 349 public television stations. It was founded on November 3, 1969 and took over the functions of National Education Television. It merged with Education Television Stations in 1973.
It is one of the best American media outlets, according to Mondo Times members.
