Welding Design & Fabrication magazine to cease print publication, shift to online-only.

Cleveland, Ohio (January 6, 2010) - Penton Media’s Manufacturing & Supply Chain group today announced that American Machinist and Welding Design & Fabrication magazines will become digital only properties.

Under the direction of Publisher Ron Lowy and General Manager Michael Madej, the AM and WD&F websites will be refocused and will enhance their online presence for the metal working and welding communities.

WD&F will continue to grow its WeldingWeb forum, the world’s largest online discussion place for welders. Likewise, WD&F’s video offerings, directory, and other online tools will be maintained and improved.

“The variety and depth of opportunities available to engage manufacturing professionals online will not only continue but will be expanded and improved over the next year and into the future. We believe our transition to online delivery of information for these two brands is a necessary change to best meet the needs of this industry,” said John DiPaola, vice president of Penton’s Manufacturing and Supply Chain group.
