Eric Kallgren Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 10:27pm on Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 | Accounting Technology and Practical Accountant magazines have been shut down and merged into Accounting Today magazine, following the release of the June 2009 issues.
Folio magazine reported on April 23, 2009:
"As a result of the merger, three staffers — all from editorial—were let go.
"When you have three books that occupy the same space there are obviously some overlaps,” Accounting Today editor-in-chief Bill Carlino told FOLIO:. Carlino also serves as editorial director of Source’s accounting group.
“We thought it would best serve our readership to move forward with one ‘super-publication’ that features the best content from the three magazines,” he said. “Under one umbrella, we’ll be stronger and more efficient, and be able to better tie in the magazine with our Web portal, WebCPA.com.”
Accounting Technology and Practical Accountant each had circulations of 30,000 and were published 11 times per year.
