New York, February 16, 2010 -- Aeropostale, Inc. today announced that it was ranked among America's top companies according to Institutional Investor's 2010 All-American Executive team, the publication's annual Investor Relations survey. The Company was ranked second in the "Best Investor Relations" category in the Retail/Specialty Stores sector in nominations by the sell-side. Additionally, Kenneth Ohashi, Vice President, Investor and Media Relations, was recognized as the "Best Investor Relations Professional" in the Company's industry sector in nominations by the sell-side.
Michael J. Cunningham, President and Chief Financial Officer, stated, "We are honored that the investment community has recognized our investor relations program as being among the finest in the nation as part of Institutional Investor's annual survey. The Company has grown significantly over the years, and we have consistently remained focused on delivering shareholder value while maintaining open communications."
Rankings for the 2010 All-American Executive Team are based on Institutional Investor's U.S. Investor Relations Perception Study. For this survey, buy-side analysts, portfolio managers and sell-side analysts at securities firms and financial institutions across the U.S. were invited to nominate up to four CEOs, CFOs, IR professionals and companies. The rankings reflect the opinions of 570 sell-side analysts at nearly 100 securities firms and more than 780 buy-side investment professionals at some 425 institutions.
"The All-American Executive Team honors corporate leaders who did an outstanding job guiding their companies through the worst financial crisis since the Great Depressing by staying true to their long-term vision," said Institutional Investor Executive Editor, Michael Peltz.

Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 9:22am on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 | Institutional Investor Magazine announced the rankings for its 2010 All-America Executive Team.
From II's February 2010 issue:
"Overseeing a public company is a daunting task in the best of times; in a recession the challenges are multiplied and magnified — and in this recession corporate chieftains find themselves confronted on all sides by skepticism, anger and distrust unlike anything they’ve ever encountered before.
“The overall criticism of business is higher now than it’s been since 1931,” observes Nell Minow, co-founder of the Corporate Library, a corporate governance research firm headquartered in Portland, Maine.
The sore spot seems to be the lack of accountability."
