Allure magazine is giving away $560,000 worth of free beauty booty, including more than 33,000 products in its 4th annual "Free Stuff" issue.

Allure is giving away 33,683 beauty products. In August, the magazine dedicated to beauty will be giving away tons of beauty and fashion products. Typically, women read magazines to learn about new products, but have to buy them to see for themselves. Allure eliminates a lot of costly trial and error with Free Stuff.

Ninety-one percent of women who tried a beauty product sample said it resulted in a purchase. Beauty lovers can save extra money by entering to win free beauty treats such as Chanel Ultra Correction Day Cream $150, Bobbi Brown Eye Palette $60, and cult favorite L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray $15. There's even fabulous fashion and style loot -- including Derek Lam sandals $790 and Earnest Sewn Jeans $198.

Felice Kaplan was hired by Allure magazine as managing editor in May 2009. Kaplan was previously managing editor at Travel + Leisure Golf, which stopped publishing in the spring of 2009.

Andrew Wilkes is leaving Allure magazine after 10 years as managing editor, the New York Post reported on May 6, 2009. The newspaper speculated that he was pushed out by editor-in-chief Linda Wells.

On February 4, 2009, the New York Post reported that Si Newhouse may shut down Allure magazine:

"THE tough times for the magazine industry are about to get worse. On the heels of Conde Nast closing Domino, insiders say Si Newhouse is thinking of shuttering Allure. "It's a shame," the insider said. "Allure is great and isn't a succubus on the budget like Portfolio. But Si's ego is tied up in Portfolio.""
