Nickelodeon is a USA TV network covering Kids Lifestyle.

Nickelodeon, somtimes referred to as "Nick," is an American cable television channel with programming for kids. It was founded in 1977 as Pinwheel. The Pinwheel name was used until April 1, 1981, when the service was relaunched as Nickelodeon: the First Network for Kids. The channel is split into several programming blocks, including Nick at Nite and Nick's Play Date. Nickelodeon began developing its own animated series in 1991, including The Ren and Stimpy Show and Rugrats.

New Nickelodeon Apps Now Available in App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch

NEW YORK, January 21, 2010 -- Nickelodeon today announced the availability of new apps for the iPhone and iPod touch based on some of its most popular television properties and proprietary websites. "iCarly: Sam's Remote" and "Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions" join recently launched Nickelodeon apps including "SpongeBob Tickler", "SpongeBob Jellyfish Jam", AddictingGames "The World's Hardest Game" and "iParkIt", "Shockwave Daily Jigsaw to Go" and "Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom." Nick's full suite of apps have had more than 4.5 million downloads worldwide since the launch of its first app in February 2009.

"Nickelodeon's parenting, online gaming and kids' entertainment expertise has enabled us to develop successful apps for the iPhone and iPod touch," said Steve Youngwood, executive vice president of Digital, Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group. "Consumers can now expect new Nickelodeon apps based on our top games, sites, shows and characters like iCarly and Diego on a continuous basis."

New app "iCarly: Sam's Remote" allows users to turn their iPhone or iPod touch into Sam's remote, and includes iconic sound effects from the show like Sam's insults voiced by Jennette McCurdy animations and more. In "Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions", users can play along with Diego as he uses music to rescue the shy animals of the world. The new Nickelodeon apps are available for $1.99 each from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.

Nickelodeon Scores Record-Breaking Night with Brand-New iCarly and Big Time Rush Debut

"NEW YORK, January 19, 2010 -- Nickelodeon scored two ratings records Monday night with the debut of Big Time Rush and a brand-new episode of iCarly -- which currently ranks as the number-one series on all of television with kids 2-11.

Big Time Rush hit a high note with its debut , setting a new record for a Nick series as the highest-rated and most-watched live-action premiere with kids, tweens and total viewers (6.8 million). iCarly's "iSaved Your Life" marks the series' highest-rated and most-watched telecast ever with kids 2-11, kids 6-11, tweens 9-14 and total viewers (11.2 million)."

They're Mini, Mighty and Built for Math! Nickelodeon's New Educational Preschool Series Team Umizoomi

"NEW YORK, January 11, 2010 -- Nickelodeon will encourage preschoolers to become strong and mighty in math with the launch of Team Umizoomi, the first preschool series to focus entirely on math. The 20-episode, half-hour series combines action-adventure missions with an interactive math curriculum designed to help kids develop self-confidence in their math abilities and appreciate the many ways in which mathematics shapes their world.

Created by Blue's Clues alumni Soo Kim, Michael T. Smith and Jennifer Twomey, Team Umizoomi features a tiny team of superheroes who use their mighty math powers to help little kids solve big problems. Set to a soundtrack of preschool-friendly pop songs, the series is designed to build upon preschoolers' conceptual understanding of math as they are exposed to core mathematical concepts like numbers, counting, computations, measurement, patterns and shapes."

New Nickelodeon Series Premieres With A BIG TIME RUSH of Comedy and Music

"SANTA MONICA, Calif., January 5, 2010 -- Four fun-loving best friends from Minnesota are given the opportunity of a lifetime when they get a chance to be part of the glamorous L.A. pop music scene in Big Time Rush, Nickelodeon's new live-action comedy series). The new series - produced in partnership with Sony Music - is from producer Scott Fellows, creator of the top-rated Nickelodeon comedy Ned's DeClassified School Survival Guide.
