Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 12:05am on Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 | Condé Nast announced on October 5, 2009 that it has closed Elegant Bride and Modern Bride magazines and two others -- Gourmet and Cookie.
The Fall issue of Elegant Bride magazine is the last to be published, along with the October/November 2009 issue of Modern Bride.
Conde Nast also owns Brides magazine, which will increase publishing frequency to 12 times a year.
Conde Nast CEO Charles H. Townsend said the company made the decision to shut down the magazines because they were losing money. He also said that none of the 180 employees of the magazines are expected to stay with the company.
