Five Nights of Concerts to Celebrate Spin Magazine's 25th Anniversary

June 11, 2010 -- Spin today announced the headliners for its Spin25 concert series, to be held from July 26 - 30. The Smashing Pumpkins, The Flaming Lips, The Black Keys, The National, and Spiritualized will headline each night, all of which will combine for a total of 25 hours of amazing live music over the five nights. Shows from July 26 through July 29 will be at the Bowery Presents venue Terminal 5, while Spiritualized will perform at Radio City Music Hall on the 30th. ZYNC from American Express is the Presenting Sponsor of the Spin25 concert series and will provide live streaming of the entire event.Dates and venues for each headliner are below:

July 26 - The Smashing Pumpkins at Terminal 5
July 27 - The Flaming Lips at Terminal 5
July 28 - The Black Keys at Terminal 5
July 29 - The National at Terminal 5
July 30 - Spiritualized at Radio City Music Hall

For their set, Spiritualized will be staging a single performance of the seminal 1997 album Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space. The performance will feature the Spiritualized live band plus a choir, 8 piece string section and horns. This will be the only North American show and the last performance of its kind.

Spin Magazine Announces Plans for 25th Anniversary Celebration

New York, March 8, 2010 -- Starting in March and continuing throughout the year, Spin will develop a series of live events, editorial features, products, and promotions that will showcase the excitement and relevance that have defined the brand for a quarter century.

Starting at March's South by Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas, Spin will produce a series of 25 music events that will run through the rest of the year. The inaugural show will be the annual "Spin@Stubb'S" party on March 19th.

The pinnacle of the 25th anniversary events will be a marathon week of music programming in July, called "Spin's 25 Hours of Music." In partnership with the Bowery Presents, SPIN will produce five consecutive nights of concerts throughout New York City, featuring artists that have made the greatest music of the past 25 years.

In other 25th Anniversary programming, Spin will be producing an array of special events, including an intimate series entitled "An Evening With...." Each live performance by some of today's best-known artists will be followed by a Q&A with a Spin editor.
