Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 12:02pm on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 | Brett Wilson has been named publisher of Parade magazine, Parade Publications CEO Jack Haire announced on October 19, 2009. Wilson will be responsible for all advertising sales and marketing efforts.
Wilson joins Parade from USA Today, where he was senior vice president of advertising sales. Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years at Time, Inc., where he was most recently publisher of Money magazine. He held various other positions, including associate publisher and advertising director for Time magazine, advertising director for Sports Illustrated, and advertising manager for Southern Living magazine. He started his career as regional marketing manager for Southern Living in 1987.
"Brett's leadership skills and proven experience in both the newspaper and magazine industries make him uniquely qualified to assume the responsibilities of publisher of Parade," says Haire. "We believe he will help grow our business across key categories, in print and digitally. He is a really great person, and we are delighted to have him on our team." Wilson will report to Parade President Randy Siegel.

Eric Kallgren Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 12:45pm on Thursday, December 18th, 2008 | In December 2008, David Hauslaib's Jossip commented on why they think Parade magazine (with a reported circulation of 32.4 million) won't fail:
"Parade's key to success is its barely-there overhead. The paper quality is low, the finished product thin and it's distributed through Sunday newspapers, alongside canned sweet corn coupons. It's possible this weekly could be rattled by a full collapse of the souvenir coin industry, but even then we think it'd pull through, stomping down Media Road like an actual dumpy, boring parade."
