CNN announced on June 11, 2009 that Joy Behar will host a new primetime show on HLN. The Joy Behar Show will launch this fall.

Veteran talk show host and comedian Joy Behar will join HLN (formerly Headline News) this fall as host of The Joy Behar Show. The one-hour talk show will air on HLN at 9 p.m. ET, seven days a week, as part of the network’s primetime slate of opinion-based programming. Behar will continue to serve as a co-host of talk show The View on ABC.

The Joy Behar Show will showcase Behar’s personal take on the day’s news, offering viewers an hour of Joy. The program will examine issues that Americans are talking about every day, with topics ranging from pop culture to politics.

Ken Jautz, EVP of CNN Worldwide, said Behar is “a terrific fit for HLN’s personality-driven primetime lineup.” “I just can’t seem to keep my mouth shut,” commented Behar.

Along with her co-hosts of ABC’s The View (Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Sheri Shepard and Elizabeth Hasselbeck), Behar has received 11 consecutive Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Talk Show Host. She has written three best-selling books.
