United Press International (UPI) is a USA news agency covering National News.
United Press International (UPI) is an American news agency founded in 1907 by newspaper publisher Edward W. Scripps as United Press Associations. The UPI news wire provides daily coverage of breaking U.S. and international news, business and markets, entertainment, sports, science, and health. Once a major competitor to other "wire services" like the Associated Press and Reuters, UPI is a much smaller service today.
In 2000, UPI was bought by News World Communications, a media company owned by the Unification Church, which is controlled by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon.
