National Post is a Canada newspaper covering National News. Based in Toronto, the National Post is a Canadian national newspaper (along with the Globe & Mail) published Monday through Saturday. It was founded in 1998 by media magnate Conrad Black, to provide a voice for Canadian conservatives. The National Post was patterned on the Financial Post, an established financial newspaper which Black purchased from Sun Media in 1997. Financial Post was retained as the name of the new paper's business section. Conrad Black sold his Canadian media holdings, including the National Post and the Southam newspaper chain, to CanWest Global Communications Corp in 2000. This newspaper is owned by CanWest Global Communications Corp. The web site is presented in the English language.
