Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 9:58am on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 | WW II in HD a Week-Long Television Event, the History Channel announced on November 11, 2009:
The series tells the story of the war through the eyes of 12 Americans who lived it. "Everything is in-the-moment. The battles are as real as they can be, creating a visceral experience. This is presented as a billion-dollar Hollywood epic but better, because it's real. We see what they saw and we hear the soldiers' thoughts through the voices of Hollywood's top talents as their stories develop," stated Frederic Lumiere, producer and director of WWII in HD. "The contemporary interviews with the veterans are each treated like a scene in a film. The aim is to keep the viewer captivated."

Eric Kallgren Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 3:30pm on Monday, May 11th, 2009 | Jon Stewart will make a special for the History Channel, Broadcasting & Cable magazine reported on May 11, 2009:
"Jon Stewart, who knows a thing or two about irony, will create a two-hour special on a perfect target—the U.S. naturalization process—for History Channel, to air in the fourth quarter.
Stewart's show, The Naturalized, is among the highlights of History's most substantial programming investment ever. The network's robust slate of specials and series, to be announced May 14 at History's upfront presentation, ranges from a sweeping 12-part series about the creation of America, to a critical examination of holiday traditions (and the anxiety they engender) by comedian Lewis Black.
The projects are among 16 new series and 13 new specials greenlit or in development for the 2009-2010 season."
