Eric Kallgren Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 4:39pm on Friday, May 29th, 2009 | FanHouse, the AOL sports web site, has been busy hiring sports writers away from the increasingly desperate newspaper business. The Chicago Tribune had this report on March 25, 2009:
"Scott Ridge, director of AOL Sports, said (Chicago Sun-Times sports writer Greg) Couch is one of six sports writers being hired. An official announcement is planned for next week. With the additions, Ridge said his "small but growing staff" appoaches 35 people, including a dozen full-time writers and 14 or 15 bloggers.
"With the state of the newspaper industry, there's a flood of talent in the marketplace," Ridge said. "But you want to find the right fit, the right people to cover the right sports for us."
