Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 7:33am on Thursday, January 7th, 2010 | The January 2010 issue of Golf Digest features the magazine's annual Hot List:
"There are 94 products profiled in this, our seventh annual Hot List. How did we get here? It's the culmination of a year's worth of investigation, including unbiased input from a team of 32 players, teachers, golf retailers and scientists during two weeks of testing in Mesquite, Nevada. Their advice, along with mountains of technical data from equipment manufacturers and independent sources, was carefully considered by our four Hot List judges before we arrived at our final list.
The Hot List has never been about ending your search for new clubs; it has been about making it more focused. We know there's a lot of good equipment in the market, but only these products receive our highest recommendation: a Gold or Silver medal."

Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 8:57am on Monday, December 28th, 2009 | Golf Digest Suspends Tiger Woods Column, the New York Post reported on December 23, 2009:
"Golf Digest is loosening its ties to Tiger Woods, suspending his monthly instructional golf articles while Woods is on leave from professional golf.
But the Condé Nast-owned monthly has not totally severed its connection with Tiger.
Golf Digest has an exclusive long-term contract with Woods valued at $3 million per year. It declined to say whether Tiger's compensation would be suspended.
"We have nothing to say in regards to Tiger's compensation," said a Condé spokesman.
He did say that Tiger will remain on the magazine's masthead as Playing Editor. No pun intended, we are sure."

Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 11:35am on Thursday, December 10th, 2009 | Golf Digest Contributing Editor Also Edits Tiger's Website, the New York Times reported on December 9, 2009:
“Typically, individual athlete sites don’t get much traffic,” said Andrew Lipsman, a spokesman for comScore, an online research firm. In October, comScore said TigerWoods.com had 51,000 unique visitors.
An intriguing, even unusual, aspect of the site is its editor: Mark Soltau, a respected longtime golf journalist and contributing editor at Golf Digest.
It is rare for a journalist to work simultaneously as the editorial overseer of the Web site of the most important player in the sport. To do his job, Soltau gets time with Woods at tournaments that other reporters evidently don’t. Reporters want to be on the inside but rarely get there. Soltau declined to comment on his working relationship with Woods.
Jerry Tarde, the editor in chief of Golf Digest, said he did not consider Soltau’s role a journalistic problem."
