September 22, 2009: The United Football League announced today that four broadcasters will lead the television coverage of the UFL on Versus. Veteran play-play announcer Dave Sims joins the broadcast booth with color analyst and former NFL standout Doug Flutie. Former Steelers Quarterback Kordell Stewart and radio and television host Anita Marks will serve as sideline and features reporters.

"We have assembled a top-notch team to lead our inaugural telecasts on Versus," said Frank Vuono, COO of the UFL. "The combined football experience and knowledge of Dave, Doug, Kordell and Anita will help us provide unprecedented access to professional football while allowing the home viewer prime viewing position that will truly make them feel like they are part of the action."

The United Football League is a new professional football league that will kick off its "Premiere" season this October. Featuring high-quality traditional football played by world-class athletes and led by former NFL coaches, the UFL's "Premiere" season teams include the California Redwoods, Florida Tuskers, Las Vegas Locomotives and New York Sentinels. The UFL's goal is to provide fans with affordable, innovative and entertaining game-day experiences.

The UFL previously announced that Versus, a sports cable network, will air eight of the League's "Premiere" season games. Versus' first game will air on October 8th at 9:00 PM EST. Each live telecast will be approximately three hours and all games will be produced and available in HD.

Tickets for all games are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 877.UFL.2009 or visiting www.ufl-football.com.

The UFL was developed to fulfill the unmet needs of football fans in major markets currently underserved by professional football by providing a high quality traditional football league comprised of world class professional football players.

Versus will televise the 2009 Tour de France in HD for the first time ever. The network is set to deliver more than 250 hours of race coverage.

Versus, the exclusive television home of the Tour de France in the USA, will kick off its ninth year of wall-to-wall coverage of the intense and grueling sports competition on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. ET. The network will begin its first day of Tour coverage at 8:30 a.m. ET with a one-hour special chronicling Lance Armstrong’s career and his 2009 comeback season. For the first time ever, each stage of the Tour will be produced in full HD.

Throughout the 23-day, 2,000-mile competition, the network will air an average of 13 hours of race action per day. Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen will once again call all the race action and Frankie Andreu and Robbie Ventura will return as the field reporters. Craig Hummer and Bob Roll will host the primetime show each night.

This year, the last four Tour de France champions -- Lance Armstrong (1999-2005), Oscar Pereiro (2006), Alberto Contador (2007) and Carlos Sastre (2008) -- will all be competing against each other for their chance to once again wear the coveted yellow jersey in Paris. Armstrong and Contador will both be riding for Team Astana.

“As we head into our ninth year as the home of the Tour, the network’s commitment to cycling has never been stronger with more than 250 hours of HD race action this July,” said Jamie Davis, President of Versus.

Versus has placed a camera on the U.S. cycling team Garmin-Slipstream’s bus to give viewers an insider’s look at the team’s daily meeting as they prepare for the day’s stage. Other enhancements that Versus will offer include profiles and features on teams and riders; advanced on-screen statistics/biometrics to illustrate the intensity at which the riders are competing; and a telestrator to analyze and breakdown sprint finishes.
