Kenyan Transit Strike Rolls On

"Public transport drew to a noisy halt as matatu operators pulled their vehicles off the roads.
Urban dwellers without cars were forced to walk or hike lifts as private vehicles stepped in for matatus and charged exorbitant fares as well. Some rode in crammed commuter trains, the more adventurous atop the wagons, if only to show up and keep their jobs in these hard economic times."
