Pentecostal Assemblies of West Indies Celebrate 100th Anniversary with Worship
-- The Barbados Advocate reported on May 24, 2010:
"Now is the time for the church to put denominational barriers behind it and come together for the nation.
So indicated Senator David Durant while speaking at the 100th anniversary celebration of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies (PAWI) held yesterday at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
A congregation of churches from all across the island and the region assembled for the celebration, filling the sports complex with worshippers and loud song.
“When the church comes together like this there will be a transformation in the air,” said the Senator. “Starting from the north, coming from the south and the church is alive! If there was ever a time that the church of Jesus Christ will make an impact on this nation, it is now!”
