Bowling Green Daily News Managing Editor Alexieff Resigns After Arrest
-- The newspaper reported on June 14, 2010:
"Following a weekend arrest for driving under the influence on federal property, Daily News Managing Editor Mike Alexieff has resigned.
Alexieff, 50, was arrested Saturday evening by a Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife officer and cited for stopping, standing or parking on a limited access highway, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
The incident happened on federal property on Mammoth Cave Parkway. Alexieff was taken Saturday to Barren County Regional Jail and released Sunday. His first court appearance has not been set.
“Mike tendered his resignation this morning and I accepted it,” Publisher Pipes Gaines said."
