March Madness Begins on VH1 with Three New Series

-- "Wedding Wars," "Beverly Hills Fabulous" and "Love & Hip Hop" Premiere Monday, March 14, VH1 announced on February 14, 2011:

"On VH1's new series "Wedding Wars" hosted by Michelle Merkin, 12 engaged couples will battle each other for the destination wedding of a lifetime. "Wedding Wars" is a competition-elimination show where each week teams of soon-to-be brides and grooms will fight tooth and nail for a shot at their dream wedding and incredible prizes. But these couples are in for a huge shock when they learn they won't be competing at a five star resort or getting any special treatment. Instead, the couples are being exiled to a remote island with little food or water and will be voted off the island by the competing couples. To win the wedding of their dreams, the couples must brave the elements and survive in the wilderness as they compete in demanding challenges that offer extravagant wedding prizes.

Featured in VH1's newest series, "Beverly Hills Fabulous," The Elgin Charles Salon, owned and managed by the one and only Elgin Charles, is a magnet for a who's who of high profile clientele. The self-proclaimed "Emperor of Hair" will stop at nothing to globalize his hair empire and secure " Elgin Charles " as a household name by perfecting his formulas for his renowned hair care products and expanding his line to reach the masses. The series features Elgin who has his hands full with his salon, his three highly skilled, but high-maintenance stylists and his ex-wife, comedic actress Jackee Harry.

VH1's new, 8-part docu-series "Love & Hip Hop" follows five dynamic women who are connected to the world of hip hop, whether it's through the men they love or their struggle to be heard as artists.

Chrissy Lampkin has been quietly advising and standing behind her man, hip hop star Jim Jones, for 8 years. Now she's looking for a little more glory and a lot more commitment. Emily Bustamante has a beautiful baby boy with the rapper Fabolous; but she wants more - a ring and a more public role in his world. And that might be more than he's willing to give. Olivia Longott, the former first lady of G-Unit is done living in the shadows and determined to make it on her own as a solo artist. Latina internet sensation, Somaya 'Boss' Reece has a fierce determination to launch her rap career and become known for more than just her sexy curves. And Mashonda Tifrere , ex-wife of producer Swizz Beatz, who is putting her life back together after her dreams were shattered by a devastating and very public divorce.
