Boston Herald Offers Buyouts to All Employees
-- Staffers have until July 1 to make a decision, with any personnel cuts occurring the following month. The newspaper made the announcement on June 17, 2011, via a three-sentence article, plus a quote, that was bylined "Herald Staff."
“The staffing adjustments we’re making are a result of revenue pressure all newspapers are experiencing,” said Herald president and publisher Patrick J. Purcell. “However, the financial efficiencies we are undertaking, coupled with the really great print and online products we publish every day, will position us well for the future.”
