Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 4:43pm on Thursday, December 4th, 2008 | On December 3, 2008, Crain's Chicago Business reported that the Chicago Tribune has cut more newsroom jobs:
"About a dozen newsroom employees at the Chicago Tribune were told Wednesday their jobs are being eliminated, and more cuts are expected next month.
Affected employees will be leaving by the end of the week, according to a memo written by Editor Gerry Kern.
The Tribune has been trimming its newsroom for more than year and has already executed at least two rounds of voluntary buyouts and involuntary layoffs. Wednesday’s layoffs follow cuts of about 100 jobs in the spring and another 80 staffers in August.
Owner Tribune Co. has also been reducing staff at its other papers, including the Los Angeles Times, the Hartford Courant and the Baltimore Sun.
The cuts come as the newspaper industry struggles to reinvent its business model in the midst of an economic downturn and falling advertising."

Bill Crete, IL | Posted at 9:48am on Thursday, April 17th, 2008 | Its a shame the Trib often does not give full coverage of critical news stories. President Bush revelaing that he approved of the meetings of top White House officials deciding on the details of torture techniques is simply missing. Of course, this si not the first instance of this kind of selective reporting.
