Dr. William Gray, a climatologist and profesor emeritus at Colorado State University, as quoted in the June 26, 2006 issue of the Colorado Daily. Gray was commenting on a new study by scientists at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) titled "Atlantic Hurricanes and Natural Variability in 2005," published in the June 27, 2006 issue of the National Geophysical Research Letters. Gray disputes the study finding that global warming contributed to the severity of the 2005 hurricane season, calling research into the subject "scare tactics."
