Editorial cartoonist John Sherffius, from a cartoon published in the Boulder Daily Camera on May 27, 2007. The text is set in a memorial plaque and below it are an American flag and the words "Memorial Day 2007."

Educated at UCLA, Sherffius was the editorial cartoonist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch until 2003. He has received national cartooning awards from the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation, the National Press Foundation, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Scripps Howard Foundation.
