Faced with increasing dissatisfaction with the conduct and results of the war in Iraq, President George W. Bush gives a speech on January 10, 2007 to reveal a new war plan. He is widely expected to announce a plan to send more American troops to Iraq. Democratic party leaders including Nancy Pelosi have already expressed opposition to the idea, while Senator John McCain recently said of troop escalation that "it has to be significant and sustained. Otherwise do not do it."
