Research by ITV, a British commercial broadcast television network, shows that only one in eight of its viewers believe that TV commercials are honest and accurate. ITV questioned 4,000 viewers to see what their response was to the statement "the commercials shown on ITV are truthful and accurate." One-third of respondents disagreed and one half said they neither agreed nor disagreed, according to Britain’s Guardian newspaper. The research was conducted as part of an ITV report on corporate responsibility called Airing the Issues.
