Gary Paulsen, as quoted in the article "On the Road and Between the Pages, an Author Is Restless for Adventure" by Anne Goodwin Sides in the August 26, 2006 edition of the New York Times. Paulsen is a 67-year-old author who has written over 175 books for young adults with more than 26 million copies in print. He is a recluse and an adventurer who says of television: "Intellectual carbon monoxide, but hey, TV's are fun to shoot!"
