The Russian edition of Komsomolskaya Pravda ("Komsomol Truth Newspaper" in English) began publication in 1925 as the official organ of the Central Committee of the Komsomol, which was the youth wing of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The newspaper dropped its political affiliation following the collapse of the Soviet Union on December 1, 1990, and is now one of the top selling daily newspapers in Russia. The newspaper publishes a number of regional editions including those in Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan. Komsomolskaya Pravda Ukraine has a circulation of nearly one million.
