The Hamilton-Wenham Chronicle covers local news in Hamilton, Wenham and the surrounding communities of Essex County in northeastern Mssachusetts.

The newspaper was once part of the now-defunct North Shore Weeklies group which was sold to Fidelity Investments in 1986. In 1991, Fidelity created a holding company for its newspapers called Community Newspaper Company (CNC), which through acquisitions became New England's largest publisher of weekly newspapers. In 2001, Fidelity sold CNC to Herald Media, the publisher of the Boston Herald.

In 2006, CNC was purchased by GateHouse Media. On November 19, 2019, the paper became part of Gannett Company when the owner of GateHouse Media bought Gannett and merged the two companies under the Gannett name.
