Missoula Independent

The Missoula Independent was a newspaper in Missoula, Montana, USA covering local entertainment, events and culture.

The Missoula Independent stopped publishing and was shut down on September 11, 2018. With a circulation of about 20,000, it was Montana's largest weekly newspaper and was distributed free throughout the city of Missoula in northwestern Montana. A spokesman for owner Lee Enterprises said "The Independent has consistently lost money for its owners and is not financially sustainable." The paper was a member of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia (AAN).

This newspaper was owned by Lee Enterprises, Inc.
