Voice of San Diego is an independent, nonprofit digital news source for the San Diego area. It focuses on local news and issues with the goal of delivering ground-breaking investigative journalism. It also seeks to increase civic participation by giving citizens the knowledge and in-depth analysis necessary to become advocates for good government and social progress.
Voice of San Diego was founded in 2005 by San Diego Union-Tribune columnist Neil Morgan and entrepreneur Buzz Woolley. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization staffed by professional journalists. Similar operations include MinnPost and ProPublica.
