The SF Weekly was a newspaper in San Francisco, California, USA covering local entertainment, events and culture.
SF Weekly published its final edition on September 30, 2021. It was an alternative newsweekly that offered news, opinion and a comprehensive entertainment guide for San Francisco. It was distributed free of charge throughout the Bay Area. It and sister newspaper the San Francisco Examiner were operated by San Francisco Media Company, a Black Press subsidiary.
This publication is a member of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia (AAN). AAN is a group of newspapers and magazines providing journalism that offers an alternative to the mainstream media in the area.
This newspaper was owned by Black Press Group Ltd.

-- January 26, 2011 -- Gil Padia is now publisher of SF Weekly. Padia was previously advertising director there. He takes the reins from Josh Fromson, who is resigning as publisher of the Weekly in order to become publisher of the Village Voice. Both the Weekly and the Voice are owned by Village Voice Media, Inc.
