Yahoo! News

Yahoo! News is a USA website covering National News.

Yahoo News is a digital news aggregator similar to Google News and Newser, which trade on easy access to headlines. Yahoo News produces some of its own news coverage but also sources heavily from the Associated Press, Reuters and Agence France Presse (AFP) along with newspapers and local TV stations. Katie Couric, formerly employed by CBS News, worked at Yahoo News from 2013 to 2017.

The service deceptively intersperses editorial and advertising content in the same presentation style to generate clicks and views for advertisers.

Telecom company Verizon Communications bought most of the old Yahoo company, including Yahoo News, for $4.8 billion on June 13, 2017. It formed a business called Verizon Media Group to operate the assets of Yahoo and AOL, which it acquired in 2015. On September 1, 2021, Verizon Media Group was sold to private equity company Apollo Global Management for $5 billion. Verizon kept a 10% stake in the new company, which has been renamed Yahoo Inc.

This website is owned by Yahoo Inc.
