Fox News Channel

Fox News Channel is a USA television channel covering National News.

The Fox News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour cable news channel launched on October 7, 1996. Most Fox News programs are broadcast from the New York City headquarters at 1211 Avenue of the Americas, in a street-side studio on Sixth Avenue. One of the most watched cable news channels in the United States, Fox News used the slogan "fair and balanced" until June 2017, when it was changed to "Most Watched, Most Trusted." FNC is widely regarded as a source of conservative and Republican Party political views.

The Fox News Channel and the Fox Television Network are named after 20th Century Fox, one of the major American movie studios (now renamed 20th Century Studios and owned by the Walt Disney Company). Rupert Murdoch acquired the studio for News Corporation in 1985, the same year he became a US citizen.

Roger Ailes managed the launch of the channel and was the CEO of Fox News until he was forced to resign in July 2016 due to a sexual harassment scandal. Previously Ailes worked as a Republican party political strategist and he ran the cable networks CNBC and America's Talking, the forerunner of MSNBC. Ailes died on May 18, 2017.

This television channel is owned by Fox Corporation.

Republicans No Longer Trust U.S. National News, Survey Says
-- Since 2016, the proportion of Republicans who trust U.S. national news services has dropped sharply from 70% to 35%. In contrast, trust among Democrats has remained high at 78%. The Pew Research Center study says this is a "partisan gap," but it may be just a matter of semantics given that Fox News Channel is a highly rated national service catering to Republicans. The Pew survey, conducted June 14-27,...

Why Conservative Media Push Covid-19 FUD
-- In their continuing quest to manufacture conflict, the talking heads at Fox News and other right-wing media outlets dangle fear, uncertainty and doubt rather than airing factual problems with Covid vaccines because those problems don't exist -- and because most of the talking heads have been vaccinated. Fox Corporation Prepares to Launch Fox Weather Channel
-- Evidently Fox has decided that the future of news is up in the air, in part because the average combined viewership of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC dropped by 38% during the first half of 2021 while that of The Weather Channel climbed 7%. Trump effect or no, it seems like everyone in the TV business wants to get into reporting the weather. Michael M. Fox News, Rupert Murdoch Turn On Donald Trump
-- Donald Trump didn't yet realize Fox News had turned against him when, on November 3, 2020, Fox called the Arizona presidential race for Joe Biden. An enraged Trump was about to learn that Rupert Murdoch is a very experienced and shrewd exploiter of politicians.
