Public Radio Exchange (PRX)

Public Radio Exchange (PRX) is a USA website covering National News.

Public Radio Exchange (PRX) is a non-profit media organization that produces news, investigative and entertainment programs for public radio stations and operates as a distribution marketplace for thousands of shows airing on public radio. Programs from PRX air on almost 900 public radio stations across the USA and include The World (covering global news) and The Takeaway.

In the fall of 2018, PRX merged with Public Radio International (PRI), another producer of programs for public radio that was based in Minneapolis. The name PRI was retired in November 2019. PRI was established in 1983 and was called American Public Radio until the name was changed to PRI in 1994. PRI was owned by the WGBH Educational Foundation, which operates WGBH TV 2. WGBH contributed $10 million to the merged organization, which operates with its own board of directors and management team.

PRX revenue comes from station fees, corporate sponsorships and grants and gifts from philanthropic foundations and individuals.

This website is owned by PRX, Inc.
