MSNBC is a USA television channel covering National News.
MSNBC is the politically left-of-center cable and satellite news and talk channel operated by NBCUniversal, which also owns NBC News. The channel's leading shows are hosted by Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough and others.
MSNBC was launched in 1996 as a 50/50 joint venture of Microsoft Corporation and the NBC News unit of then-owner the General Electric Company. Under the agreement, NBC News was always to maintain editorial control of MSNBC, both on TV and the web. On July 13, 2012, NBCUniversal became 100% owner of MSNBC when it acquired Microsoft's 50% stake. Today NBCUniversal is majority owned by Comcast Corporation.

MSNBC Hires Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki

Rashida Jones Named President of MSNBC
-- In February 2021, Rashida Jones will replace Phil Griffin as the president of MSNBC, a service of NBCUniversal. Jones started her career at the company seven years ago and will be the first black executive to run a major American cable news channel.

Chris Matthews of MSNBC Says "I'm Retiring"
-- And that's effective immediately, Matthews announced on his show on March 2, 2020. He said "this is the last 'Hardball' on MSNBC." Hardball With Chris Matthews was launched in 1997.
