ESPN is a USA television channel.
ESPN, originally known as the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network, is an American cable television network which broadcasts sports-related programming 24 hours a day. Describing itself as "The Worldwide Leader in Sports," ESPN covers all aspects of sports: stories, news, analysis and game coverage. ESPN was founded by Bill Rasmussen and his son Scott, and launched on September 7, 1979. The network broadcasts primarily from its studios in Bristol, Connecticut, although it has offices across the United States.
ESPN is a joint venture between the Walt Disney Company (80% ownership) and Hearst Communications (20%). Walt Disney also owns the ABC Television Network, and today ABC Sports is operated entirely by ESPN.

ESPN Cuts 300 Staffers, Leaves 200 Jobs Unfilled
-- November 5, 2020: ESPN is cutting jobs in the wake of the severe disruptions of the sports business resulting from Covid-19. The cuts amount to about 10% of ESPN's 5,000 employees. The company is also suffering from the decline of pay TV in the United States and the rise of 'over the top' streaming services, including ESPN+, which had 8.5 million subscribers at the end of June 2020.

ESPN Signs Deal to Promote Sports Betting with DraftKings
-- On September 14, 2020, sports betting and fantasy sports company DraftKings announced a multi-year deal in which ESPN will connect its users to DraftKings betting services. DraftKings will also run promotional segments on ESPN studio shows, beginning with daily fantasy. DraftKings was launched in 2012 and is based in Boston.
