Weather Channel

Weather Channel is a USA television channel.

Established in 1982 by Landmark Communications, The Weather Channel began as a 24/7 cable television service devoted entirely to weather. In September 2008, an investment group composed of NBC Universal, Bain Capital and Blackstone Group bought the service for $3.5 billion.

In January 2016, NBC Universal sold the digital and data services of the business, including the Weather.com website, Intellicast and Weather Underground, to IBM. These assets are collectively known as 'The Weather Company, an IBM Business.' On March 22, 2018, NBC Universal announced that it would sell the Weather Channel television channel (not including the digital and data services) to Entertainment Studios Inc., a company owned by comedian and producer Byron Allen. The price was thought to be about $300 million.

It is one of the best American media outlets, according to Mondo Times members.

This television channel is owned by Entertainment Studios, Inc.
