It was launched in 1979; today it is owned by TelevisaUnivision, the largest Spanish-language media company in the world. The company was formed from the merger on January 31, 2022 of Univision Communications, owner of the Spanish-language American TV network Univision, with most of the assets of Grupo Televisa, the leading media company in Mexico.
