Animal Planet is a USA television channel.
Animal Planet is a satellite and cable television channel offering programs about animals, habitats and conservation efforts. Tt focuses on non-fiction TV to inform and entertain with stories about the natural world. A high-definition simulcast of the channel was launched in September 2007.
The channel was launched in June 1996 by the Discovery Network in partnership with BBC Worldwide. The BBC sold its 20% interest in the American channel to Discovery in 2006. On April 8, 2022, Discovery merged with WarnerMedia to form a new business called Warner Bros. Discovery.
