truTV is an American cable TV channel that presents real-life stories told from a first-person perspective, a type of programming called Reality TV. truTV programs include the original series Black Gold, The Smoking Gun Presents: World's Dumbest..., The Principal's Office, Speeders, Disorder in the Court, Forensic Files and Operation Repo.
Before January 2008, truTV was called Court TV. Court TV provided a look at the American system of justice through coverage of trials, court cases and other legal news.
Time Warner bought Court TV in 2006. In June 2018, Time Warner was sold to AT&T Corporation, which renamed the business WarnerMedia. On April 8, 2022, Discovery merged with WarnerMedia to form a new business called Warner Bros. Discovery.
