WGN America

WGN America was a USA television channel.

On March 1, 2021, cable channel WGN America was shut down and replaced by NewsNation, a 24/7 cable news channel. WGN America was known as Superstation WGN until May 2008. A "superstation" was a local TV station (in this case WGN TV 9) redistributed with some modifications via satellite to cable systems across the country.

WGN America was available on basic cable and satellite services with a program schedule consisting mainly of second-run television series such as Parks and Recreation, Blue Bloods, M*A*S*H, Dog The Bounty Hunter and COPS. It was owned by Tribune Media Company until September 19, 2019, when Nexstar Media Group bought the company.

This television channel was owned by Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
