Thoroughbred Times was founded in September 1985 and in 1988 merged with The Thoroughbred Record, the oldest Thoroughbred publication in North America. It was a weekly, tabloid-sized news magazine, reporting on racing and breeding internationally for owners, breeders, and fans. It offered news, commentary, race results, sales results, departments on raising and owning horses, and features covering the rich tradition and history of the sport.
