Esquire is a monthly magazine for men which was founded by Arnold Gingrich and launched in October 1933. Esquire focuses on men's lifestyle and fashion, and has published some of the best American writers of the 20th century including Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Norman Mailer, Tom Wolfe and Terry Southern. The magazine has had many owners, including Clay Felker in the late 1970's. Hearst Corporation bought the magazine in 1986. As of 2010, Esquire has a circulation of 700,000.

Jay Fielden Named Editor-in-Chief of Esquire Magazine
-- January 29, 2016: Jay Fielden has been named editor-in-chief of Esquire magazine, replacing David Granger, who will leave Esquire on March 31 after almost 20 years. Fielden had been editor-in-chief of Town & Country magazine since January 2011, and he has also been named editorial director of that publication.
