WFXG TV 54 is the Fox network affiliate station in Augusta, Georiga. The station was launched on May 23, 1991 and replaced WBEK TV as the loal Fox affiliate. Its call letters stand for "FoX Georgia." On August 20, 2018, Lockwood Broadcast Group agreed to buy the station from Raycom Media, which was in the process of being acquired by Gray Television. The sale to Lockwood was completed on January 2, 2019.

This TV station is owned by Lockwood Broadcast Group.

Lockwood Buys WFXG TV in Augusta, Georgia
-- Lockwood Broadcasting, Inc. is buying Fox affiliate WFXG TV in Augusta, Georgia from Raycom Media. The deal also includes WTNZ TV in Knoxville, Tennessee, WPGX TV in Panama City, Florida and WDFX TV in Dothan, Alabama. On June 25, 2018, Raycom agreed to be bought by Gray Television for $3.65 billion. Because both Gray and Raycom own TV stations in the above markets, Raycom is selling the stations to comply with FCC cross-ownership rules. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2018.
